Default FREELINE WHEELS

What is the difference between Dauglas Magnesium M wheels and the freeline ones. Is there any difference in handling of the chassis?
Thanks

Free line is usually faster and keeps the tire cooler.

A quick story about Freeline wheels, a fellow racer (and Friend) of mine was racing one weekend this past summer on a non-red chassis. We were struggling at a new track with the set up and it just so happens he was running Douglas magnesium rims. We found what we thought was the best set up and called it good. Just to test something, we pulled off the wheels and tires, put the tires we were running on the kart onto Freeline magnesium rims. We adjusted the width of the kart to compensate for the difference in the offset in the rims. Went back out on the track and BAM, 6 tenths faster. No other changes made, same chassis settings, same air pressure, same set of tires. Just some food for thought.

I won't bore you with all of the details of the tire / wheel swappage, but my friend and me recently discovered & concluded that our used Freelines mags are 0.3 to 0.5s faster than our new Duglas mags. (Our new Douglas' are now our practice wheels).

Thankyou for your concise results. It has been proven by some of our Northern customers of the value of the Free Line Mag. I am glad to hear of your success down there as well. Congrats on your new found speed! Can you imagine what price a Jr. dad might pay for amotor that went that much faster..? ha ha! Garry

Hi!

I run the R 30c y chassi in the Rotax class in Norway. We use the YGK tires. On tracks with many bends in high speed I have problems with overheathing the tires. I run the alu-rims that comes with the base-chassi, and the standard red axel. In the start of the season I drove the yamaha class with realy good results, then this was no problem. Do you prefear to use the freeline mag-rims on this chassi and in Rotax? And/ or change axel?

Thanks for all answers!
