Packing....

Just being curious. How often should you replace the packing in the Max Scilencer??

I talked to people at the track, some of whch ran Rotax xhallenge series, and theu said, "Often". I understood that to be about four to five times a season.

What's the effect of running the motor without the packing???

Non-existent or old (burned) packing will result in exhaust gas turbulence, making the exhaust system less efficient. I don't know the specifics, but, essentially, this will make you slower, as well as make the engine noticeably louder.
