582 rotary valve cover intake port errosion
I have a 582 with about 400 hrs on it. Inspection of the rotary valve assy, revealed erosion about .025 deep at the lower edge of the PTO end intake port on the valve cover. Any ideas what might have caused this? there is no other evidence of galling or the like, however the rotary valve is slightly cupped.
