Default new old guy, Product question

hey - i keep getting this banner telling me that i have never made a posting and that i should - so here it is: Me? i've been in karting since i was real young - clue: my first kart was a Bug with a Mac 99 and my dad raced a birel with a Komet TT and a vevy pipe, i can still smell the Klotz...

after a few years away due to an accident - not racing related, (I last raced in 02) i see that things have changed a bit and i have no birel dealer in town anymore. Also, i was wondering if MRP will be importing the Spirit Kart line from Beggio - although its made by birel, lke Monza - in fact i think they were entering it as a Monza in competition until they got it Homologated just recently.

Welcome Matt! Glad you have made it back into karting.

As far as the Spirit, Beggio runs it as a separate company and MRP is not involved as an importer. We have our hands full with Birel and Monza as it is - as well as the corporate entertainment models we offer!

Thanks for asking and enjoy the site!

Now - who is the Birel/Monza dealer up here in the great white north - do i go to pserra in the Big Smoke (thats what we call Toronto!) or the 3r guys on the west coast - either way is a 24hr drive for me, unless there is somebody closer?

Matt,

What is a Mc 99???? did you mean a Mc 49???
I know about the Mc 49....then it was the Mc 70 and Mc 75.....then the Mc 91,92 and 93; and Mc 100 and Mc 101 the last kart engines from McCulloch

I am curious about the Mc 99.....I never heard about it; I ran Mc49,Mc 91 and 92

Regards,

Roberto

Roberto - you got me thinking! i called up 'Dear Ole Dad' and he couldn't remember! he said there was a letter suffix after the name and that it was 100cc. so i looked and looked and found this:

http://macbobaust.com/mac_93.html

this is it! a 93MC(gotta like the initials...), same shroud and colours. 6.05 cu in = 99cc - maybe thats where i got the '99' from.

hope this makes more sense to you - sorry for the confusion, it was a few years ago!!
