Default Michiana Racing Bulletin - March 5, 2008

Hello Michiana Racers!

FINAL WINTER SEMINAR - THIS SATURDAY, MARCH 8 @ 9:00 AM.

The last of our winter seminar series will take place promptly this Saturday morning, March 8th at 9 AM. This will be a combined seminar on clutches and carbs. Chuck Yoder will once again present this program for us. He will answer any unanswered clutch question from the previous session.

OPENING WEEKEND CLOSING FAST!

Racing is just three weeks away and the track is scheduled to open on March 15th, weather permitting. If you have any questions about any of our classes do not hesitate to call. 574-288-4922.

It is our goal once again this year to make your racing experience at Michiana Raceway Park enjoyable, exciting and filled with fun for all. The program is disciplined, organized and professional. This experience, we are told, is what makes our property a 5-STAR facility and worth the drive to race twice a month on Sundays. We have found that a Sunday program is better attended. In our past three years we have steamlined the program and reduced the total number of classed offered.

KID KARTS RETURN FOR 2008

Kid karts will return once again this year with our standard practice schedule and race events built into the middle of the program to help speed their racing along while they are still attentive and excited. This has worked well in the past and will continue this year.

MICRO-MAX - NEW FOR 2008!

We are going to be offering the Micro Max package as a class for those who want to race Micro rather than Mini Max. It will be up to the race director to organize the classes based on driver talent and speeds to best fit the new class into the schedule. We have had good experience with this program in Florida with three new drivers participating in the Florida Winter Tour. Customer satisfaction is good with this program.

CLASS SPONSORS NEEDED

The first class to have a sponsor is the Rookie one class. We are looking for class sponsors to add to our annual advertising poster that will be printed on April 1st. In order to secure a prime spot on the poster or to get in volved in class sponsorship please contact Rick Hall at 574-288-4922.

RotaxMax Challenge 2008 -

MRP is operating another Rotax Max Challenge this year as we have done since the inception of Rotax in North America. We will be using the Mojo D2 Tire along with Motul oil and the MS93 fuel. If you have any questions, visit the MRP customer forum - www.mrpmotorsport.com/community Stamped MRP authorized Mojo’s are in stock at the Three Oaks store. Call 269-756-9133 to reserve your tires.

What’s new for 2008?

MRP Parts/Service Trailer: We will be operating a parts trailer at the center cross roads of the MRP track as you enter the pre grid area. This will assist customers who need something quick to avoid the extra travel time and energy to run up to the pro shop. This is a new 16-foot concession trailer with knowledgeable staff inside to supply your parts. It will be convenient for those of you who are also looking for technical support as the MRP staff will once again headquarter at the normal pit spot as they did last year.

Garages Are Coming!

It is our intention to proceed with the storage garage program that was rumored last year. This building will take up some space. If you wish to pre order a reserved parking spot or a garage for the season, please contact Rick Hall to finalize details. There will only be 16 units built this first year. Half of those are spoken for already.

ORBITZ & MY-LAPS!

A new Orbitz 3 program has been secured for timing and scoring in order to provide a MyLaps.com connection once the race is complete.

Our Mission Continues!

Let me remind everyone the goals of our racing series. We are attempting to provide a solid field of racers in a limited number of classes so that each of you has a venue to race locally in a friendly environment. Over the past four years we have made many improvements to the property, the staff and the overall operations to put fun back into racing. We often get rave reviews from out-of-town visitors as to the Michiana welcome that they receive while visiting our property. I expect that friendly atmosphere will prevail and that our support services will continue to focus on each of your needs to attempt to provide “fair and equal treatment for all competitors”.

See you at the races!
