2010-2011 MRP Winter Training Seminar Series & Open House Schedule

Saturday dates listed below; Seminars run from 9:00a.m. to 12:00 p.m. LOCAL TIME

December 18 – Winter Maintenance & Brake System Service

Just in time for Christmas, this seminar offers a great deal of knowledge regarding the necessary steps to winterizing and preparing your kart for next season. The comprehensive course covers everything you will need to prepare your kart over the winter season. As an additional bonus, the seminar will devote specific focus to properly maintaining and rebuilding your brake system. MRP will also be offering specials on an entire stock of Birel and Rotax merchandise – perfect for the Holiday Season! This seminar will be held at MRP Motorsport, 105 N. Elm Street, Three Oaks, MI 49128.

January 8th – Yamaha/HPV Clutch & Carburetion

Devoting full attention to one of the largest class structures in karting was a specific focus for our staff and this seminar promises to provide racers with a hands on learning experience with maintaining and adjusting the Walbro carbs found on most 2-stroke karting engines as well as the clutches that are used. Next to tires, the clutch and related components are the most abused elements on your kart. This seminar will provide participants an opportunity to better understand the mechanics of the most popular clutches used in the numerous 100cc classes. We’ll address preventive maintenance, tuning, and rebuilding. This class is a must-attend for anyone new to 100cc kart racing. Save yourself money by knowing how to work on your own clutch! This seminar will be held at MRP Motorsport, 105 N. Elm Street, Three Oaks, MI 49128.

February 5th – Unlocking Data Acquisition Secrets For Tuning & Driving

One of our mottos is “Knowledge is Power”. This course focuses on not only the operation of the AIM/MyChron data acquisition system, but also how to analyze and optimize the data provided to improve both driver, engine and chassis performance. Additional focus will be placed on gauging driver performance and consistency. Using the optional GPS feature of the MyChron 4 system, students will learn how to better understand the natural trends of their driver and how to improve their performance and better tune the chassis to their driving style. Marc Miller, professional race driver/drive coach, 2008 Rotax Max Grand National Champion and 2009 Playboy Mazda MX5 Cup race winner and series runner-up will conduct the seminar. This seminar will be held at Chicago Indoor Racing – Addison at 2381 West Army Trail Road, Addison, IL 60101.

March 5th – Rotax Engines – Clutch, Carb & Power Valve Maintenance

Being the fastest growing karting class, the Rotax engine provides a great value to the consumer. This seminar will provide Rotax customers with proper training to maintain and tune their engine from the ins-and-outs of the Dellorto carb to clutch maintenance and power-valve adjustment and cleaning. Learn from official Rotax specialists all the things to keep your Rotax running smoothly. This seminar will be held at Chicago Indoor Racing – Addison at 2381 West Army Trail Road, Addison, IL 60101.

April 2nd – TRACKSIDE Chassis Theory and Dynamics (located at Michiana Raceway Park)

Back by popular demand! This class provides chassis theory and set-up secrets directly from the experts and karting champions. This is a great learning opportunity for those working with junior drivers, beginning drivers, and experienced drivers looking to further enhance their knowledge of chassis dynamics. We’ll cover everything from chassis design & philosophy, baseline preparation and set-up theories. This seminar will be hosted TRACKSIDE at Michiana Raceway Park to offer real world results.
