Is this date in stone? It is the same day as the speedway race w/ IKS?

This was the date agreed upon by the club members at the Michiana track during the season as our best choice. Sorry it conflicts with the other event.

From the letter I received this past Sunday:

Date: August 15th and 16th

Classes: Intl, Masters, Micro, Mini, Jr Rotax, Jr Sportsman, Rookie One, Kid Kart, SSX Can

Free Camping
Two-Day pit Passes $15, One day $10
Event pass of practice, pit pass and race fees: $70 for both days per driver.
Rules in the Michaina Raceway Park club will govern this event.
Tires are open for purchase from your local kart shop and do not need to be purchased from the MRP tire pool.

There will be an Arrive and Drive program available for $60 per person in the 4-Cycle Robbins powered karts. Call 269.756.9133 to reserve a kart.

Sounds like a fun weekend.

Rick

This will not be a profitable race for RGR. It is designed to maintain the zoning status of the race track. Four cycles are welcome as always. The fees are designed to pay the race day staff, the advertising that is going on to promote the race, the NKA insurance that we run under plus the cost of being a sanctioned track with NKA.

For the 4 cycle class: $ 500 sponsorship gets you all of the drivers you want to enter for the Sunday event. We will give you one race class on the track. There will be no time trials. We will draw for position like the old days and score by hand, just like the old days.
I plan on brining up the old scales just so everyone can remember how we used to do it.
It is all designed for good fun.

Free pit spots will be asigned based on the time of entry which will open this Sunday at the Michaiana Raceway Park club race. 8:30 is the first time for sign up on the pit spots.

I hope you can make it. Everyone is welcome and you do not have to be a member.

We didn't make the RGR event but everyone that I talked with had a great time that weekend. Every developing driver should have the opportunity to drive the RGR track. We've found it to be an excellent learning environment. Thank you Garry for keeping this facility alive and available.
