Hello i have a 13 yr old that weighs 330lbs with the kart, he races in the JR heavey 4cycle class. We are just looking for some set up help. He seems to fall back in the pack quickly and can't keep up. I just want to se if what we have setup is right and any additional set up would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks |

If you are running in the Jr Heavy class at 330lb you are 40lbs over weight and with a 4cyl that will be hard to overcome. Engine and clutch is going to have to be looked at on top of the chassis
We ran the AT 130 Torsion karts allot with our 4cyl's in the late 90's ,At that time with we generally would start with. - 40mm F2.5 or 40mm B rear axle ,short rear hubs - 48 3/4" rear track width - standard or a # 1 bar with just one clamp in the center - If it was an original unwelded kart run the pinch bolt tight - Front spindles down I hope this helps point you in the right direction Jake Collison www.collisonracing.com |
