My son will be moving into (possibly HPV1 for a while) HPV 2 maybe Rotax Jnr in about 9 months. Presently he is 87lb (soaking wet) and 5 ft. He is in Jnr 1 Comer 80 using a c28-x
I have the choice ot the AR 28, AM29 or R30. Most the tracks are pretty fast and sticky (So Cal)
I'm trying to pick the correct chassis. it's pretty confusing. Rotax would aways be down the road, unless they really becomw popular in So Cal 2008 Junior 1 is very competive here in S Cal. I want him to have to work hard in the most competative class.
Advice appreciated.
I can pick up a AM29 or R30 for the same price.

Marc,
I'm just trying to help, but, I think the 28 and 29 should be strictly utilized for junior sportsman classes. You gotta go with a 30 or 313 for Junior categories.

For junior sportsman, the AR28z is the creme!

Marc,

We live in Southern California and we run the AM29 in Junior Superbox and HPV-2 and Taylor Miinch also runs the AM29 in the same classes as well as HPV-4 and we have all done very well in the IKF Series on this chassis. Miinch finished in the top five in HPV-2 and HPV-4 and Cameron finished 2nd in the Junior Superbox class. We run a R31 in Rotax in the Junior class and finished 2nd in the Gatoz series with a chance for the championship but a blocked last lap prevented this. If the driver is big the 30 might work better as the track gets sticky. Cameron started the season as being around 92 lbs and now is 102 but has grown 5 inches.

Good Luck Marc.... We have a AM29 for sale also if you are interested.
