I had an interesting problem with the master cylinder on my R31. I noticed several times in the last couple outings that the brakes were locked on to the rotor. The final time they wouldn't release at all. Disassemlling the cylinder it was necessary to use something to push the piston out of the cylinder bore. One end of the piston seemed to be an interference fit in the bore. The bore itself was perfect, no scrapes or galling. When we measured the piston, one end was indeed .003" bigger than the other end. My question is, has anyone else seen this apparent "growth" in the piston?

The race team is at Stars East this weekend. I'll make a phone call to them and see if there are any other customers with the same problem. Call the office on Tuesday if you will and let Steve Miller know of this discovery and we will put in a report to Italy. Thanks for the update. Garry

I need to ask that you work through your dealer and have that individual call into the office to sort out the problem you are having. Thank you in advance. Garry

Its not really a problem or a complaint. I replaced the piston and it works fine now. Just thought you might want to know in case the same thing pops up again.
