After reading the question on the seat position for a CR31SR, Chris helped me in getting all the different karts measured and figuring out a BASIC seat position.
AR28/AR30/R30
Left= 58.5cm
Right=59.5cm
Top of axle to top back of seat=23cm
Bottom of seat flush with bottom of frame rail
**If running soft tires OR on sticky track, lower seat

Q31/CQ31/R31/R32
Left: 59.5cm
Right: 60.5cm
Top of axle to top back of seat: with 40mm axle=23cm, with 50mm axle=22.5cm
Bottom of seat: 5-7mm below bottom of frame rail

CR31/CR32
Left: 6cm
Right: 62 cm
Top of axle to top back of seat: with 40mm axle=23cm, with 50mm axle=22.5cm
Bottom of seat: 5-7mm below bottom of frame rail

*The measurements "from top of axle to top back of seat" is with the axle DOWN

**These are only suggestions. Given a different track, different conditions, different drivers, different engine configurations, a different seat position might be more beneficial. This is only a starting point.

Caroline,

A couple additional questions.....

How does a CR932 fit into the mix?

Are the dimensions you give, strictly for the stock seat? Basically does a Ribtect seat change those dimensions?

Thanx in advance.....

All team drivers of MRP and Birel only run the stock seat. Time and again after exhaustive testing have provent the stock seat is the fastest. Birel does offer a padded seat at a lower price that the Tillet. If another seat would improve kart performance (stop watch) then they would supply it. I suggest you contact your seat manufacturer for any tips on seat mounting. Sorry.
