My son is running a R30CY & this year we switched to Senior which calls for 30 more pounds. So far we seem real loose compared to last year. Will there be many changes we should do between the two? It seems to tighten up when we narrow the front & rear. Is this correct? I've read where widening the rear will tigthen it up. We currently run YHC spec tires with around 15 lbs in them. Spacing in the front is 1.5cm. Rear width is 52". We now run 210mm rear wheels & 7.10 tires. Junior ran 6.00 tires. We also run around 56% rear weight. Thanks for any help.

i'll give it a shot.
widening the front and rear will generally loosen the kart. widening the front will increase the caster effect which will help lift the inside rear wheel loosening the kart.
your front to rear % sounds pretty good. my son runs an R30 and its been a little tight all year. sunday we removed the front bar and it helped out.
we are running the rear at 53.5" and the front at 3 full spacers with the rear crash bar set loose.
does that help?

Maybe. Any way you can remember the front width? We're not running Freeline wheels this year & I'm not sure that the offset on our new wheels isn't messing me up now that I have started measuring. Last year my records show that with the Freeline 130mm wheels w/1.5 spacers our width was 41 1/2". It is way wider than that now and don't have any freeline wheels to compare & see if my measurements from last year were correct. That would definately jack more weight. Thanks for your help. R.W.

Please review the archives on the forum. We speak in terms of front spacers. Lets say two wide spacers on the inside, then change to one wide and one small. The tech crew is really busy at the moment getting ready for Stars and the WKA grands along with the regular production. I'm sorry we have been slow to answer on this question. But the information is contained in the archives, I'm sure. If not just give us a call at the office and we will for sure try to answer all of your questions. 269-756-9133.
