i am searching for a new chassis, i am currently running an Intrepid Suzuka, my dad has a M-32 and I love it. it is far better, i believe that Birel is a superior chassis produce. so i am currently looking at a Q-31, i race TAG senior at stockholm karting center in minnesota and we are planning on running 3 or so road courses a year and shawano and other sprint tracks. i am 5,11 153 pounds. i am wondering how this chassis would fit my size/weight and tracks i am planning on running.
thanks, T-Walsh

There are over 175 Q31's in the country. Wes Boswell used a Q31 in the spring here at So Bend on a Rotax and smoked the competition until the battery failed. But there is a big difference in the Q31 vs the M32. We are talking about several years of technical change. The Q31 works better in early Spring or late fall. In other words, low grip conditions.
It is very hot and sticky in South Bend this weekend with all of the Mid West racers and rubber on the track. The M32 would be the right choice in this location on this weekend.

how much of a difference would thier be with the chassis in a low/high grip situation? how much faster would the m-32 be in a high grip and how much fater would the Q be in a low grip?

These are all good questions. But until we test them back to back, I can't answer with any certainty. But let me put it a different way.
If the Q31 was the hottest ticket, then the Birel Factory team would be using them for every race at the international level. They are for the moment using M32 and R32 chassis.
This is a trade out situation. What do you want, the fastest for the least? Do you need tech support behind the sale? Let me know those answers and I'll give you my thoughts.

thier is a Q-31 for sale at my local track for around $1,600 and i have been looking for a chassis upgrade (switching to BIREL!) ever since i drove my dads (bryan walsh) M-32, the M-32 felt to corner better, brake better and was much more relaxing to drive. my chassis is an Intrepid Suzuka. it felt better overall compared to my suzuka. anyway i am wondering if the Q-31 would perform anywere near as well as the M-32 did when i drove it. if it doesnt i will just half to wait and see if an M-32 pops up. i just want to run the best performing chassis availible. i can sell my intrepid and buy a new chassis. thanks for the help Garry!!

INTREPID suzukas dont work with american tyres only soft tyres. Call your dealer and buy a Silverstone, a much better kart.
