beaveun has adopted a spec tire rule stating we are to run vega blues (very soft). the rear is getting too much grip and is pushing. i've done everything i can think of to free it up.
i have an R30 jr. can kart. the front bar is in, the rear crash bar is loose, i have 75mm hubs at 53.5 width with douglas magnesium wheels. i have the front 3 spacers out and can't go any further. the rear bumper is loose and wire tied on. i have an F axle with no extras. the seat is in the recommended position.
any ideas or suggestions on what to try.
this is his first year on a 2-cycle. he's not slow but needs to find another 2.5 seconds to be with the top guys. (1:00.5-1:03.0)
so far he has a 3rd place, and 2 5th places out of 7 karts.
we had been gaining ground but seems like we hit a brick wall at 1:03 flat. its not the equipment as we have the best there (everyone has pretty much the same stuff).
its either driver or setup. any ideas or suggestions?
i'm considering moving more weight to the front but already have 45% on the nose.

the rear is not adjustable on mine. its a 2002 R30C-Y. i do have the front up with the spacers on the top of the spindle.
i'm thinking of raising the seat up a little. he only weighs 100lbs and may be sitting to low to get transfer. i might try going up about 1 inch and see what that does.
i have about 65lbs added to the kart with about 25 on the rear of the seat and the rest is all down low which gives me a really low center of gravity.
sound good?
any other ideas?
