50 mm Rear Axle

Can someone give an explanation of when one might use a 1000 mm rear axle rather that a 1040 mm axle on a R-31 Tag kart

Using a shorter axle within hubs set to the same overall outside width means less axle within the hub. Less axle within the hub allows for more flex in your axle setup without actually going to a softer axle. A good way to loosen up the rear if you cannot go to a softer axle.
