As a further incentive for everyone to own their own transponder and as a bonus to those of us that already do; please could the results from MRP and RGR be posted to the AMB website 'MyLaps.com'. This provides a great way to check results and look back at your own performance on a lap-by-lap vs. any other kart in the same race. From discussion with Stacey Martin, I believe that it is very simple to upload the day's race data to the website.

Would anyone else like to see this happen??

Do we need to purchase the software Orbitz in order to accomplish this?

Don't you use the AMB system with Orbits software now?

If you have Orbits 2, it is very easy. You can do it with the scoring computer and an internet connection.

No Orbitz. I purchased the system at full price from the previous track owner as part of the deal in order to get the property. Orbitz was not around at the time the initial AMB system went in.

You'll need Orbits. Chronix is most likely what you have, and not set up to use MyLaps.

along the lines of transponders and such....Does anyone make a gauge package that incorporates a transponder into the gauges? Seems to me that would be "the cats meow"!

I believe I heard that AMB was working on something like that.

Orbits 2 or 3 is what you need for this. The software is somewhat similar to ChronX, unlike Orbits 1. The learning curve for your scoring personal would be pretty small. There are lots of great features that your scoring personel could take advantage of.

Mychron said they were looking at something but that they had "nothing like the AMB unit". So apparently, it is am up and coming thing with some of the mnufacturers

In follow up Bruce let me offer the following:

MRP is looking for a sponsor for the $2300 upgrade to Orbitz 3. Any ideas or leads to chase down would be welcomed.

I did meet with a software company on Monday that has a club race mangement program that does the same thing as Orbitz when linked to the AMB system that we use. It offers additional value but is more expensive.

I have also received a call from AMB to discuss the issue. We are open to any other positive ideas on how to provide this service. Thanks for your continued good ideas and race support, Bruce.

Garry,

Thanks for looking into this so diligently. When I first made the suggestion I didn't realize that such expensive new software would be required. I will do what I can to drum up some sponsorship.

Thanks,

Bruce
