I bought a used kart in december yamaha can kart $800 running. I can't find out year it was made. stamped R5 0614 on bearing support. 30mm axle odd rear brake solid with raised circles. bread box side pods with nerf bars going through and out pods.

R 5 does not ring a bell, perhaps 1994.. but that is not a designator in our terminology. Is it a Birel?

yes it is a birel . could i have read the # wrong ? maybe it's A5 0614

The numbers aren't making any sense. Maybe a picture would help. What was it represented to be?

Garry, the brief description they are giving sounds similar in style to my kart am632. The nerf bars actually stay inside the side pod except for the mounting points so maybe that might help narrow things down a bit?

Then we could conclude the year would be 1995 or 1996 at the time of manufacturing.
