I don't think changing the seat is the answer to your problem. Give me your full setup and I can point you in the right direction. But usually when you go to a softer seat, that will free up the kart.

Wesley,
Set up,
Front end, almost centers, smallest amount of caster, I belive 1% pills.
Rear, Reg.hubs 53.5-55" axel-f, one seat strut on each side.
Front bar in and side bar out.
Lots of front grip, maybe too much.
Thanks,
JC

Sounds like its the standard setup that it came with. Here are a few things to try.
Things to do to the front
-Try taking the front bar out
-Try lowering the front ride height (Spindles up, chassis down, small spacer on top, big spacer on the bottom)
-Try taking caster out of it, just turn the pills 180 degrees
-Try narrowing it up
These are all things that will take front grip away
Depending on the track you may need to go softer with the rear of the kart. On a normal track with good rubber you would go stiffer to get rear grip. But if the track is very green and has very little or no rubber you need to go softer to get the grip.
Things to try to the rear
-Try taking the third bearing out (Just take the bolts out and tie wrap the bearing so it doesn't move around
-Try running the rear track width around 54"
-Try moving the seat back
-Try a softer axle
Another good resource for chassis setup is the birel website. If you haven't already setup a account with www.birel.com and you will find basic chassis setup info. You must log in to be about to view it.
