polymer sprockets

HAs anyone used the ploymer/ plastic sprockets for 50cc kid karts on the birel baby kart. Mine has the mts options. I am looking to reduce the wieght of the axle assy.

First it is not worth it. 2nd the gear is spec, 3rd you are defeating the purpose of the kid kart which is to teach kids about driving first. Spend your time and money plus racer support on those issues. That is my experience over the years.

The sprckets really aren't that heavy anyway, but, I have used those plastic sprockets on Sr. karts without any prolbems.
