i bought a new front torsion bar for my son R-30. it was pretty difficult getting it installed. no matter how i moved it i couldn't quite get the angles lined up. i had to tap the clamps on with a hammer. is this normal? i installed it with the angles as close to lined up as i could get them.

It was a used kart as I remember correct?

yep. nothing looked bent or anything. the angles were just off a little. when the bar is held in place there is about 1/4" gap on one end. its not a tight fit which is probably normal. the bar is v-shaped with only one bend in it. is there supposed to be 2 bends, being flat on bottom?

Have you put the clamps on the frame without the bar just to make sure that it is not the clamps that are the issue? Anyway if they are not, those bars are pretty soft and can be bent to fit. Don't worry they only made one single bend bar.

got the torsion bar figured out too. the floorpan was up in the way so when i pushed it back down i could fit the bar in nice. went right on. i just didn't think the floorpan should interfere.
