Has anyone experimented with different size drivers? For instant if the common gear for a track is 13/74 would there be any advantage of running a 14/80? Does the larger diameter of the drive sprocket offer any benefits even though the final gear ratio is the same? I know there would be less wear on the chain and you would have a greater potential of hitting the larger rear sprocket.

one thing i've read is to try to avoid using too small of a driver. the tighter the circumference the sharper the angle on the chain which in turn would probably equate to more drag (resistance). anybody agree with that?

The number of teeth on either gear does not make you any faster or slower by using different # of teeth on both sporckets in respect to ratio. Your ratio is still either say a 6.00 gear if the base setup was say a 13 and 78 were used as well as a 11 and 66. The tight radius that the chain makes is what you should be worried about. Chain life is something to think about as well and reduced friction. The larger radius the chain can turn on the engine sprocket the better. This is what I believe..Others may disagree.
