Anybody have some measurements for me? Standard "Euro" (i.e. Freeline) Seat, Large... 125cc ICC kart.... Will race on YHB's... I'm about 5'10/170 lbs. Lots of people have been directing me where to install it, but they all seem to be saying different things. HELP!
(I know how to install a seat... i.e. bend the tabs to reduce stress on the bolts etc etc.... i just need some numerical measurements to go by :) )

Martin,
Probably the most important item in karting is seat position, and it's the least accuratele positioned thing we do.
My suggestion is to get the Birel Kitfor positioning the seat. Using this device you can set a new seat in the Kart, and position the seat back from the rear axle, at the angle you want, and weight the kart on a set of scales so the weight distribution is correct, BEFORE you drill the seat ( A picture of the seat positioning Kit is on the MRP web site.)
We set our CQ31 so the seat back lip is 9-1/4" from the rear axle, and the left front lip is 25-5/8" from the pedal pivot centerlone, and the right 26-1/2" from the throttle pedal pivot centerline. Driver Weight 165# and 5'11" tall
Hope this helps

I looks like Jean has a good starting point but the only way to find out where your best seat position is track testing. I took me 3 years of tweaking John's seat around to find where it works best. And still moving it around. I am always open to any advise. If there was a secret sweet spot that worked we would all have it.
