Thanks for having this class. This definetly will help those lighter and less experienced drivers. Is there a way to determine if your yamaha is spec? What are L & T clutches? If we have rain, what tire and size will we need to use.? Will there be points for this class this year? Is there a large responce this new class. Was wondering what type of turnout we're expecting this comming year for this class?

Rain tires are open, we would suggest 4.5 all around. Thus if you have used sets or find used sets for sale this will be a year of transition to use up last years material. We have three drivers so far and as you know we need a total of five to start the class. We have a sponsor, so it is off to a good start. We can make a complimentary tech available at no charge during our upcoming engine seminar at Three Oaks and I'll put out a release on that news this week. The L&T dry clutch will also be discussed at the upcoming seminar, but it is the basic clutch we use in order to start new drivers in racing. It is easy to rebuild and something that we will teach during the clutch seminar.

One follow up point: Yes, this is a class running for points and the intention is to have awards including track championship trophy and jackets for this group. Year end awards will be presented to any driver who races in 7 or more of the events. Thanks for asking.

I looked for some info on the internet on the L & T 2142D clutch. Do you know what final grea ratio the kids should use in this class. The clutches that I can see can be baught with a 10, 11, and 12 tooth setup. Do you use a 219 chain with these? Do you carry these clutches..if so what will the cost be? Do you foresee a mandated gear for this class to tighten/equal out the field or have you experienced to much dfiference in horsepower for the spec yamaha kt100's from motor to motor. I would imagine the style of kart would have an impact as well on lap times with all other things being equal. Is there anything we can do to make this class larger, i.e., try to get more participants. Is there any kind of contact list from last year for those children that were 8 and under? Have you come up with a package deal for those who want to participate in this class?
