I recently purchased a new Monza 32A. Last weekend was my first race against national competition. The chassis was very bound up on a sticky track and I could not get any RPM. I checked the toe with toe plates and when it was at 0 measuement front and back it didn't "look" right. Seemed like one of the plates was toed in. We then decided to measure from the front and back of the toe plate to the opposite kingpin. This seemed to "feel" better but when measure side to side it was way out.
Any suggestions how to properly check the toe and set the tie rod ends?
Also, how do I make sure that the chassis is "square"?
Yamaha Masters SSX
tire pressre 10lbs.
front bar out
bumper loose
meduim axle
short hubs
Bridgestone YHC
P.S. According to everything that I've read from Birel reguarding setup, I should be making the chassis stiffer to fight a sticky track condition. This flies in the face of what all of my competitors were doing. Most of them have 30mm or 30/32 chassis. Can you explain the differences in setup approach?
