Hello great forum column just bought a new 29 chassis could you please enlighten me on the rear axle position! What benifit does the short wheel base have over the medium and the long base? Where would you use each position or are they designed for specific conditions? My son runs in jr heavy honda at 300 lbs THANKS Roy

The basic theory is a short wheel base kart would be used for a small tight track. The long wheel base for the high speed conditions. The obvious suggestion is to test in advance of race day as tire selection and horsepower will influence the results. If the driver is bigger then the longer set up application aplies. Even though the kart and driver have a minimum weight, the weight transfer rate becomes a dynamic with a small skinny kid vs a bigger bodied driver that has to add no weight. Upper body structure comes into play as well.
Since this is a new kart and the weather has just turned favorable for testing, there is limited experience for our own experimentation. We hope that you share your own results with the forum members and we will try to update once our calander clears.
