MRP Motorsport, parent company of GoBirel.com and GoRotax.com, released the schedule for their popular Winter Seminar Series to be held January through March. This will be the company's eighth consecutive year of offering these seminar programs for their customers. Aimed at both beginning and veteran karting enthusiasts, the seminars are designed to assist in easing the "intimidation factor" of numerous maintenance, setup, and mechanical functions. In conjunction with the seminars, each Saturday will also serve as an "Open House" for the MRP retail facility with shop tours, product technical information and general customer assistance.

December 19 - Chassis Dynamics, Preparation & Maintenance - Intro to 2010 Birel Models

Just in time for Christmas, this seminar offers a great deal of knowledge regarding proper chassis preparation, maintenance and adjustments to changing track conditions. The comprehensive course covers everything you will need to prepare your kart over the winter season, provide a vast knowledge of set-up information as well as offer a chance for a complete introduction to the 2010 Birel chassis line-up. A demonstration of Freeline accessories will also be displayed. MRP will also be offering specials on an entire stock of Birel and Rotax merchandise - perfect for the Holiday Season!

January 2nd - Carburetor Tuning, Maintenance & Rebuilding for Rotax & Yamaha

This session will provide the opportunity to completely tear down, clean, inspect, and rebuild your Rotax Dellorto & carburetors. We will dispel the myths regarding tuning the Dellorto carbs for Rotax use and review the tuning needs for each racing application! For those that are in the Yamaha classes, this seminar will also offer Walbro "1 Carb" (HPV & Yamaha Jr. Sportsman) and Walbro "3 Carb" demonstrations and rebuild kits.

February 6th - Unlocking Data Acquisition Secrets For Tuning & Driving

One of our mottos is "Knowledge is Power". This course focuses on not only the operation of the AIM/MyChron data acquisition system, but also how to analyze and optimize the data provided to improve both driver, engine and chassis performance. Additional focus will be placed on gauging driver performance and consistency. Using the optional GPS feature of the MyChron 4 system, students will learn how to better understand the natural trends of their driver and how to improve their performance and better tune the chassis to their driving style. Marc Miller, professional race driver/drive coach and 2008 Rotax Max Grand National Champion will conduct the seminar.

March 6th - All about Clutches - Clutch Rebuilds & Maintenance

Next to tires, the clutch and related components are the most abused elements on your kart. This seminar will provide participants an opportunity to better understand the mechanics of the most popular clutches used in the numerous 100cc and Rotax classes. We'll address preventive maintenance, tuning, and rebuilding. This class is a must-attend for anyone new to 100cc clutch or Rotax karts. Save yourself money by knowing how to work on your own clutch!

April 3rd - TRACKSIDE Chassis Theory and Dynamics (located at Michiana Raceway Park)

Back by popular demand! This class will utilize a kart in race trim to further understand how weight distribution affects chassis handling. This is a great learning opportunity for those working with junior drivers, beginning drivers, and experienced drivers looking to further enhance their knowledge of chassis dynamics.
