View Full Version : chasis question

i am looking for a used birel chasis to run yam. heavy class and possibly tag. I weigh about 230 lbs. i found a 2000 Birel 125 040/02 ICC chassis with extended porch, no motor. i have been told that going to a shifter chasis may work better for me because of my weight. my problem is that i'm only 5'9" and wouldn't need the extended porch. can this be removed so its a standard chasis? would this chasis work good for me? thanks

First off it would be hard to remove the frt poarch on that kart but at 5 9 with the seat in the normal position you should be ok.
2nd a all 32mm kart will be fine for tag or rotax.
3rd a 125 or shifter chassis has less caster built into the frt end this is not optimal for tag but will work ok.
4th To identify what chassis you have, Go to the the drivers left rear bearing hanger it will be stamped on it. That Kart Might be a cr32x but if you look we can all give you better feed back.
