Hi DAR,
Typically, we do not scale the kart. Scaling a kart out to a certain desired setting, doesn't always mean the chassis will work a specific way. Keep in mind that in car racing, scaling is done for cross weights and many variables. A kart though is much more limited and the way the kart works through the corner is more important than the static weight it has on a scale.
It is recommended to place the seat in the proper location (or have an authorized dealer mount it to the proper specs) then use practice to achieve the best handling characteristics for the conditions or track you are at.
What track do you race at? I assume it is a TaG class? or are you using a shifter?

if Scaling is not the proper thing to do to check out a kart, could you maybe explain the 'tabling" i heard discussed a little over the weekend? I assume from the discussion you set the kart on a layout table type surface and check from certain points for twists in the frame?

Sean,
No problem. The staff use a surface table or flat plate and factory measurements to check the tolerances of a kart. This will enable us to determine if the kart is bent, tweaked or may need an adjustment.

This is the proper surface plate to setup and check if a chassis is straight.
