hello everyone,

I wanted to first introduce my self my name is jim donahue and I am new to karting, as a matter of fact I just bought a business in oceanside california go-karting.com and the company does not carry the birel line... I was looking for advice .... is it a good kart ? will it sell well? should I buy one for my 15 year old son he is 6' 1" and 170 pounds and still growing ? he has alot of wheel time but it has been all off road. he has been racing since he was 6. Is there racing in southern california that is exclusive for birel or races that prohibit them ? thank you to anyone who will take the time to enlighten me

jim:)

Jim,

You have packed a lot of questions in a 5 line post.

First of all, welcome to karting. I have been involved in the sport off and on for almost 20 years and I own and operate Full Throttle Karting, a full service kart shop in Orange, CA. We carry the birel line, and I can tell you that it is one of the best chassis on the market.

Birels do very well. In East Coast WKA competition, birels lead the manufacturer's standings. In West Coast Rotax competition, birels won 3 of the 4 classes that in which racers competed on them. There is no series or competition that specs them, nor is there a series that prohibits them.

If you have time, come on up to Orange and check out our shop. We just moved into a new shop at 525 W. Katella in Orange, between the 55 and 57 freeways. We have new and used models in stock.

Thanks,
