-never take the front bar out.
-Put the standard Birel seat or a T-9 Tillet seat in the kart.
-Axle down
-Front - 2 spacers below spindle
-all bars in.. side bar out as a test.. don't worry about feel only the watch.
-Tires - Bridgestone YHB around 10 PSI
-1 ring on the front width hubs
-55 inches always to 55/1/8.. always take the rear to the max and adjust the front.
-Seat bolts always tight with at least 1 set of struts
-on the pills: 1 degree of castor out to 1 decgree caster in not always the same on both sides. you need an expert tuner for this analysis on the spot.
-standard mag wheels
-on the axle.. BDF D2.5 M K are choices but usually qualify on D 2.5 and then race on an M
-Hubs run 100mm hubs ( Free Line only)

Hi Marc, do you have any additional info on the CR32 chassis? I have just purchased one and need any and all info including the seat measurements.

Thanks!

What other info are you looking for?

Seat measurements will vary based on seat type and your size. But here is a baseline:

61cm - heel to seat (right side likely will be a little longer)
Center of kingpins to center of top of seat - try to get within 2cm.
Seat bottom flush with bottom of rails
lip of seat to axle (40mm = 23cm, 50mm = 22.5cm)

Thanks Marc,
Im just trying to do some set up work on the kart and as I have no experience finding it difficult to start. Ive made some progress but as Im rather tall (6'4'') I dont have too many options with the seat. Im close on most of the measurements.

Ive set the kart up as you described above but Ive got major oversteer at the moment and I dont have the rear bar in as it didnt come with the kart when I bought it. Any ideas?

THanks again!

Is the oversteer on corner entry, or exit? power off or power on? That would help with the set-up advice.

It happens with the power on. It is the worst in medium to high speed corners on entry and the exit isnt much better. Is there supposed to be a rear blade that I can adjust? Would that make it better?

It does it power on coming out of most corners, fast or slow.

What would be the order of things to try? I dont have enough of a grasp to know what to try.

If you are really narrow in the front, I would widen the front 1 to 1.5 spacers to start.

If you have a D2.5, you might want to try an "F" axle as well. Sounds like you are having issue getting forward bite if it is a throttle on oversteer.

You don't need the rear bar, we never run them.

Thanks Marc,

Spacers meaning the lines on the spindle? Im set at the 4th line, or the 5th bar.
Should I narrow it to the first bar? That sounds awfully narrow.

JS-

Originally you said you were at one ring out... did you mean you were 4 rings wide on your front hubs?

Yes, I am at 4 rings wide.
I read on one of the posts on this site that that was a good starting point.
Was I way off?

No.. that is good. I suggested to widen it a bit because I thought you were only 1 ring wide.

Have you tried narrowing it at all? Does that help make the kart less loose off the corner? Have you tried the new Freeline hibs and new mag wheels? They are stiffer and might offer more side-bite for the back of the kart.

I assume your front bar is in. What about the side bar?

I was recently advised to use T12 seat. Which one is better T9 or T12, its for 2004 CR32 frame with no front brakes and Parilla leopard TAG on it. On this same kart is it possible to get kng pin "C" angles, I plan to measure the frame to make sure it is straight. Suggestion for caster pills is unclear, what is the factory setting on these karts. Don't have rear bar, do I need it?
Thank You.
