Hello, I am new to the whole karting thing. I received two used karts for Christmas and don't know where to begin. I am pretty sure that they both have a birel chassis. I used the link to find your chassis/model number, but these were the only numbers I found on the frame: 011070 AR4 and 150011 AR28X. They both have Rotax engines. I believe that one is a FR125MAX and the other is a FR125 Mini Max. I was told that the previous owner raced them and then stored them for the past couple of years. So needless to say everything is either gunked up, worn out or broken. I am having trouble finding replacement parts, such as a Freeline Fuel Tank (I suppose it would help if I had general info about each kart). I am unable to find a local dealer or shop or I would have started there. I would appreciate any help or suggestions so that I may get them up and running. Thanks.

Hi Duke-
Welcome to the Birel family. We have a few dealers in Texas. First, where in Texas are you located? From there, we can direct you to your local dealer but we can also assist you as older models are less likely to have dealers well stocked with those parts.
2nd - there is a resource for finding out what fule tanks you need. Here is a link: http://www.mrpmotorsport.com/community/showthread.php?p=3910#post3910
3rd - You will likely need the essentials, brake kits, etc. Here is a good resource on brakes: Replacing brake pads = http://gobirel.startracingnow.com/how-to/howto-gobirel-pads.pdf
Bleeding brakes: http://gobirel.startracingnow.com/how-to/howto-gobirel-bleedbrakes.pdf
Feel free to email me at news@mrpmotorsport.com with photos of your karts and we can recommend replacement parts.
Thanks for coming to the site. www.GoBirel.com is a good site to learn more about your karts.

Hi, I was looking into buying a kart for a 14 yr old, who is new to karting, but he wants a decent one for a starter kart not to fast but not a child size, also trying to get it used for a lower pice I was just wondering if they sell ones online becasue most are the offroad karts that are used.

At 14 you are looking at a Junior package - either Yamaha Junior Supercan or Junior Rotax at the tracks you are probably close to - Englishtown and NJMP. The karts are full sized for either class so in the Birel line you are looking at the AM29, R30, RX30, RY30 or the Monza Z30.
The R30 is the most plentiful and probably the most succesful kart for these classes for a beginer. The good side to that is that the karts are easy to come by but more importantly so is the support.
If you would be interested in a short road trip to BeaveRun (Pittsburgh) we could get you on track for a Test Drive program on an R30 with a Yamaha package in Junior Supercan configuration. A good way to try the sport out without investing too much.

I am closer to the Englishtown's raceway park, but do these places have classes to or only racing on the track
