heel stops

I see some of the new models have the new heel stops. Is this an available Freeline part? Will it fit our C28s? Also this will be Alex's last year of Mini-Max, is the RY30s1 the hot replacement for the RX30 in the Junior Rotax class?

Hi Bill-
Just thought I would answer your questions.

Yes - the new heel-stop is available as a separate part - HOWEVER, there are some limitations. Here is a photo:

As you can notice, the system is designed for the "looped" steering shaft mount, not any triangular shaped kind. Also, 2009 models have revised body-mount locations, so the driver fairing front pod bracket mounts on the frame and not on the bellypan as previous models.

It IS possible to update 2008 and earlier models if you create a new bracket for the driver fairing. If interest is high enough, we might be able to offer a solution package - but right now the demand is not high enough since the component is so new.

As far as the RY30s1 and RX30se. We never would refer to a newer model as the "replacement" in that it is better. The RX30se will continue to see solid race results and has been a very good chassis. The RY30s1 however is the next generation of an all 30mm kart (the Rx30 I believe had a 32mm front bar, the RY30 is ALL 30mm).

The RY30s1 has the 25mm spindles and all the bonus features that the 2009 model MTS package karts enjoy. We feel VERY strongly that the RY30 will be a very successful kart in Junior Rotax, Sr. Rotax and 100 Jr. and Sr. classes. Our testing so far has shown it is very easy to get working in several configurations. This does not obsolete your Rx30se. In fact, most if not all of the components for 2009 will retrofit onto your Rx30 (spindles, hubs, cassettes, etc) and could provide even more adjustment to your current chassis without needing to buy a new kart.
