New here, so I have a few questions:
Will the rear pod bumper (FIK05/09) fit the AR28z?
Same for the "C" style rear brake.
If my driver is 5'0" tall, 127 lbs., which axle? (30mm or 40mm)
I will be running Bridgestone YDS tires (rock hard), on somewhat bumpy track (Badger Raceway, WI.), tires will be treated, KT100, 305lb. Jr. SSX Can class. Thanks.

Why would you treat the tires?

If you don't, you aren't competitive, plus I didn't want to pass them along in my will, hardly worn. ;)

Any answers on the other questions?

RE re bumper: we have the metal elephant ear bumper. That is the choice.
You want 30 mm axle only, YDS tires demand that. It is proven time and again that the 30 is the best for the light weight drivers.

Thanks Gary. Do you just wait by the computer for posts, I appreciate your quick responses. Is the offer for the school still good when we purchase a kart? Would that be at MRP in April? Do you think I should run it with the YDS's at your track? I might want to do a few days if possible. Thanks again for your patience.

Ha ha: Waiting by the computer. Yes, I was raised on the computer back as a trader. When I am in the office, I am wired full time. I know how important it is for customers to get prompt responses.
For sure we want you to be on Birel with your local dealer and we feel so confident of your MRP school experience and the AR 28 that we will extend this offer through your dealer. Yes to the YDS. ( not treated with old yeller please) Let us show you how to make those things work the legal way. Then you can do your magic back at home.
We look forward to the opportunity to work with you and your dealer.

Thank you! One of the big reasons I am focusing on Birel is the excellent support that you and your company offer. I will now be quiet until I order my kart and quit bugging you guys. One more thing...how do I get one of those Birel magazine's that they offer? Last question, I promise.

Thanks for the great comments. We are blessed with many full time dealers and a very committed staff to create the best experience for the customers.
In terms of the Birel news: I have a sea shipment leaving sometime from Birel in the next 30 days. The "news" is not complete until the new year and then it goes on the next boat shipment. I too, am axious to see the report as MRP's youth program has a huge write up about what we do at South Bend in training and support.
I will add your name to the growing list, but for the moment, I'm afraid we are looking about 60 days out before the item arrives.
Don't ever hesitate to ask the questions. I've learned too! A good example is from the wealth of contribution from guys like Rick Z and Rick H. all of whom are loyal MRP customers and very much coming from the beginner ranks over the past two years. All questions are good questions.

I will be ordering my AR28z on Monday from Creative. I have the Odenthal 100cc Yamaha motor mt. with the 3rd bearing support (28mm) any problems there? Do you have any experience using the Ilmor motor mts.? I would also like more info about the racing school we talked about, we ran 6 races last year, usually mid-pack, would my son be considered a beginner or advanced? I am looking for something hopefully in early April, and what hotels you could recommend that are by the track.

Hi Lance-
The odenthal mount should be no issue. I have no experience with the Ilmor mount.. not sure if we have had any in the shop either, but will let Chris or one of the guys answer that.
As far as the school - we often will do custom schools based on the driver history. If you have raced - we would likely start off somewhat basic, then advance as quickly as the driver feelsd comfortable.

This was dug up using the search function.... but Jody Karam made this comment about the Odenthal engine mount in relation to a C28 chassis (which may or may not affect the AR28).
Quoted:
"The Freeline mount MUST be used. I can't understand why anybody would use a Odenthal mount that clearly intersects/contacts the rearcrossbar(?) on the chassis and prevents the chassis from working? This is what woks for us."

Does the freeline mount have a 3rd bearing? At our track we need to run that. Anyone use the Odenthal w/the 3rd bearing with a kt100 on the AR28z? If not what do you use w/ a 3rd bearing design? Anyone have any experience with the Ilmor mount with a kt100?
