Just wondering what the weight of a AR28z w/KT100 would be, or the weight of the AR28z chassis w/seat, tires, fuel, etc. approximately would be. Trying to figure out how much weight I would need to add to get to 305 lbs. with my 127lb. driver.

How much does the kart weigh with your driver in it.

My old rule of thumb was 135 lbs, kart and motor and tires. The ar 28 should be alittle lighter. Maybe one of the dads who raced the AR 28 can assist on giving an answer.

OK, I don't have the kart yet, otherwise that would be rather easy. Looking for info on the weight of the kart only if anyone has a similar setup.

Thanks guys. Rick, was that in Jr. Can? How much does your driver weigh? I'm just wondering if I should order the kart with the 30mm or 40mm since Alex weighs 127lbs, and we will be running the YDS tire most of the time at Badger. It looks like we will be adding 23 lbs to get to the 305 minimum for Jr. SSX Can.

The kart only comes with a 30 mm axle. Any changes would be up to the dealer to assemble and bill on their own. The kart is ordered for max performance. This is very important with such a hard tire like YDS.

Lance, we use the AR28 in Jr Sportsman with an 85# driver. Bought the kart used with the 40mm axle and just ran with it.

we run yamaha sportsman with an older ar28 (not a z) with 30mm axle and are at the 150 - 155 lb weight mentioned above...

rick h - i suggest talking to MRP about converting over to 30mm axle for sportsman class... you won't be disappointed! plenty of time to test before that first race in april....

recommend ar28 w/30mm axle for driver 100 lb +/- in sportsman class.... hope to be able to comment on junior class/chassis in future years
