I'm trying to get the 4 cyl racing going in northern Ind. This class has been running in the IKS street series and growing at every event. The class allows the racer to play with the engine (as most 4 stroke people do) and doesn't require much teck. I believe it and the animal class could run together.
AGE 15 and older
TIRE Open compound and open manufacture
FUEL Gas or methanol
BODY cik or full body approved
WEIGHT 385lbs. OHV 350lbs. Flat heads
ENGINE Any single cyl. 4cycle naturally aspirated air cool
240 cc. max. Honda Kohler Tecumseh Yamaha
Briggs and World Formula

My dad has laid out the basics to a 4 Cycle Controlled class in the previous post. Something like he has mentioned has been successful for the IKS racing series down south.
Would MRP be willing to adopt this class?
This would go along ways to giving the local racers that have been participating in that series and class a local option during these economic hard times, when trailering 3+ hours just isn't an option.
Thanks

i think this would be a great class for northern,IN. I'ved race this class numerous times last year and had alot fun in it! I think you should give more cc's to the flatheads though. I would difinitely come race at mrp a few times if this is emplamented as a class.

Jockey how many cc do you think the flatheads should have to make for a level power range.

If ohv is max 240cc. then flatty at 350cc., seemed to be pretty close on a wide open 1/4 mile low bank.

Sorry Neil and Ken. I will do what ever rules it takes for you guys to race at the property I tried to layout a format where you make your own rules including tires. We posted that and Rick Hall was supposed to get in touch with you to discuss and explain this.
In the past the 4 cycle program has always been filled with controversy on the common set of rules. You guys make up your own rules and enforce them. We will provide the staff and the normal race day support. If you have questions, a phone call to Rick would be greatly appreciated
I really don't know how I missed this series of postings, but I was in Florida when the thread started, and then off to Austria and back to Miami and along the way I lost my lap top.
Thanks for your persistance and good idea. Rick can be reached 574 288 4922.
