Hello i'm planning on giving a parilla 125 a run for it's money next week. On average how many laps are you guys getting out of the chain and rear sprocket ? The motor only has 7 laps on it and the chain and rear sproket are new, will that last me all day ? Any insight would be great otherwise i'll let you know lol.

As long as the chain alignment is good, you use a quality chain lube, and chain tightness is correct, the chain and sprockets should last hours. Some people swear by o-ring chain for a TaG engine but I have had good luck with regular DID 219 chain. I use either Xeramic or Blendzall chain lube. You should not worry about wearing our a chain or sprocket in one day.

We use DID 219 chain with the Kevlar/plastic sprockets. We have two R30CY's with PRD TAG engines & ran the same chain & sprockets all summer with no problems. Probably around 20 race weekends on each.

Yea they stopped selling the plastic sprokets around me. Some shops still have a box at the counter of em for 3 bucks a pop. I tried one of em and it gave me 7 laps. The chain never came off but all the teeth on the sprocket were gone completely smooth. And that was a hour drive to the track no spares hoping it would last atleast a day. Owell live and learn i'll never run a kevlar sproket again. But thats a long time on one maybe mine were mad of crayon wax. And on the other hand you could bring 5 plastic for the price of one metal. I havent used my tag other than that time but i did have a couple kt100 karts and i dont remember any issuse with there chains and sprockets

Not sure what your problem was because we have no problems with them. We will be running the same 78 tooth, Kevlar gears this year that we used all last summer. even messed up a couple of teeth on a curb last year. Trimmed it off with a knife and are still using it.
