After being out of karting for 20 years, my 10 year old son is now racing. We bought him a used m32 kart to run in a Yamaha sportsman class. I looked at your How To section but still can not find out how old the kart is. The numbers on the frame I found say 145ch08. Can you please give any info on this frame Thank you

Hi there,
The number you have found on the chassis is the homologation number for a M32sp. The "sp" designation tells us the chassis is from the year 2004.
The M32sp is an extremely good chassis designed to provide plenty of front grip using the single bend main frame rail design. It is an all 32mm chassis however, and designed for senior categories such as TaG, Rotax, ICA - typically engine platforms that offer more power and weight.
At 10 years old, your son will have a hard time with fitting in a full-size chassis. Where are you located? Perhaps we can find a local dealer to assist you in either making that kart work or to trade in for a kart that is suitable for your son.
Welcome back to kart racing and thanks for choosing Birel!
