Most of the talk on this forum is technical and karting related, but after this weekend I cannot contain myself.
Did anyone see the F1 race? My heart sank after watching Lewis perform such a silly overtaking maneuver into turn 1.
How about ARCA? I am not a huge stock car fan, but what Scott Speed did had to catch you attention...
Any thoughts?

I can hear the cars from Toledo Speedway from my house - watched the race on Speed Channel.... I thought Speed's comments after incidents - especially towards ARCA - to be inappropriate....
Speed could've let the 99 go and avoided the initial contact.... 99 clearly got into speed in the middle of the straight causing speed to get into the wall... but then for Speed to torpedo the 99 after the fact was wrong.... it will interesting to see Speed in cup....
the kid that won the race and championship was most deserving... good racing family... just got big break and signed by penske... goes out and wins race AND championship.... great story....

Didn't see the F1 race but the demo derby in the ARCA race was pathetic. These are grown men right? Speed pulls something like that in the top series they will send him packing. IMO he will be nothing more then a backmarker in the big leagues anyways because it's very difficult to make the jump from Nationwise to Sprint let alone skipping a whole step. Joey Lagano although very talented will face the same challenges next year.

Well that is different than how I see it.
1. You are correct about Speed's comment towards arca, don't what what he was getting at, pretty low blow to the talent in the series.
2. Speed wanted to let the 99 go, but his team told him to race him. The 99 had gotten into him 3 or 4 times before, never trying to overtake speed. This made it pretty obvious he wasn't trying to pass Scott but take him out. I don't condone hitting other people and causing wrecks, but If i would've been in speeds seat i would've been pretty upset as well. I blame the 99, for that whole debacle, not Scott.

wasn't it massa that hamilton tangled with? thought massa got the drive-thru penalty as he went across the chicane and made contact with hamilton... (or do i have that backwards)
have enjoyed watching F1 races this year - although i confess i have a hard time keeping up with all of the drivers, points standings, etc. etc.... now jeff jr - he can tell you who's on top in points and leading constructers championship, when the next race is, etc. etc. he follows F1 religiously when we're not racing....
the night race in singapore was spectacular....

Right. You would of been upset but I doubt you would of taken the guy out in the obvious manner he did. For a guy thats skipping a step to move up I don't think he made a wise choice.

Yes massa Took hamilton out, but hamilton made a bonzai moving going into turn 1 that wore his tires down to the cords, (brake lockup for a good 25 meters) which would've forced him to pit even if massa had not taken him out.

Well no matter how speed takes out the 99 it would've been obvious, but i see your point. If speed does not take out the 99 the 99 wins the championship, and that would've been dumb, after he had; "most blatant thing i've ever seen, he aint' gonna win the championship like that" taken speed out. Stenhouse would not have been a deserving champion. In my mind speed won, but if he doesn't Allgaier is the next best thing.
If you can't tell I am a sucker for those Americans who defy the odds and make it to F1. (and almost score a point ;))

speed is running at martinsville today - will be interesting to watch how he does since this race is the smallest track nascar races and requires a lot of patience.. during happy hour practice, commentators were discussing the the ARCA race from last weekend...
meanwhile, F1 form China, is on the speed channel this afternoon as well.....
looks like the remote is going to get a good workout!

But what happened at Michiana today? After unloading all of those trees by myself, I sat and watched the last of the F-1 race ( my first ever) Ha ha. Please give us a recap of the Scott Speed news if some one has any?
