aluminum vs magnesium

HI, I have several sets of magnesium and aluminum rims and I have heard that some teams run a combination for different conditions. What conditions would I want to use aluminum or magnesium rims. I am running Yamaha Pipe with a TO32. Thanks for the help.

The magnesium rims will give you less grip, or will make the kart feel loose. The tire will heat up faster with the aluminum rim, because the rim is stiffer, and will make the tire work harder. I have not seen many people, myself included put magnesium and aluminum wheel on a kart. Hope it helps.
