I always set the front end without the driver in the kart and look for 2mm toe out and between 2mm negative and 2mm positive depending on the track conditions.

Under what track conditions would you want 2mm toe out? And what track conditions would you want 2mm in? Thanks for the help -

We almost always run 2mm toe out...anything less than 1.5mm toe out will make the front of the kart very "nervous". The "between 2mm negative and 2mm positive" statement was made in reference to camber. If you need more grip in the front especially from the center of the turn out I would try increasing the camber (+). If the rear of the kart breaks loose from the center of the turn out and the steering seems to be a bit too "direct" you can deaden the effect of the steering wheel by going negative with the camber which will create more rear bite.

so if i want to set up my kart with a total of 2mm Toe Out and im using one of those laser setters, should it read 1mm Toe out reading on one side of spindle and 1mm Toe out on other side of spindle for a total of 2mm Toe out? or 2mm on each side?
