I'd like to thank Rick of Raceway Motorsports, our Georgia Birel dealer, for joining us this weekend in Ocala Florida for round 5 (races 9 and 10) of the North Florida RMax series.
With 9 wins and a second in the series, we clinched the series in the MicroMax class with the Birel C28. After making some adjustments to the setup we used during Round 4, Rick had Jesse well over a second a lap faster than the rest of the class on Saturday.
On Sunday, we stayed with the Saturday setup through the final race where a jet change was made to account for the storms passing through. While Jesse and I enjoyed the more relaxed pace, Rick spent his day helping a MiniMax driver improve.
Joining us on his new C28, Ross Smith (Georgia), pulled off a few fast laps each day showing that he's capable of winning races once he's gained some more experience. At just 7 years old, Ross is going to be able to grow with the class as he improves his skills. We look forward to helping him out at the final round of the series Aug 9 & 10.
If we can figure out how to get there, we look forward to racing with the rest of the MRP/Birel family in Shawano this year.
