Double Race Weekend Great Idea

I thought the back to back dates over the 4th of Juy went very well .

Several racers commented that they would be interested in more double weekends since it could be a huge saving for those coming from long distance to make only one trip with high fuel prices.

Thank you MRP staff for a fun weekend, The after hours party was a lot of fun for everyone. It was nice to spend a few stress free hours with the other parents.

It was also fun to spend some time with the staff when they were not pulled in 50 directions.

It may be hard to beat Mike G on the track but the kids kicked his tail in the water fight?

I echo these remarks. In fact.. if this were to happen again next year, it would be my choice to make a weekend of it with my family. Michiana Raceway Park and the racers are a greta outgoing bunch and the party was a great time. I might bring my family down in a motorhome next year and make a weekend of it!

How about another double to make up for the postponed race?

Say around Labor Day or Halloween

Late October is too late for a points race. We are discussing a team race for that time frame.

If there was enough interest, the Labor Day weekend would be ideal as it is in line with the July 4th program. It assists the track in that holiday weekends are hard to generate outside groups. Holidays are meant for families.

I don't know of many of our customers running Rock Island, and that conflict would most likely not affect many of our regular club members. Let's see what kind of spin we pick up on the double race weekend for Labor Day.

holidays = family, 5th-6th was a great MRP family event.... me and the kids like to spend weekends at the track - it was really great having the MRP family/staff hang out too...

the double weekend takes on the flavor of a divisional event with kart numbers to match - really raises the bar another notch... look forward to seeing the 2009 MRP schedule with a couple doubles sprinkled in for fun.... certainly makes it attactive for out-of-towners to attend....

Having another back to back weekend on Labor day sounds great. Would you run Saturday and Sunday or Sunday and Monday. Jim, Sandy and Leslie

i have to say that the double race weekend was awsome. it's to bad that we can't do this every weekend. i must also comment on the track run backwards on saturday, freekin' awsome. i know that my driver loved it. i hope that there is some consideration about this for next year. :p

Double race weekends are the primary reason we drive the 4 or 5 hundred miles to Ocala, Florida to race instead of running the local race the same weekend at the track 90 miles away from the house here in Georgia.

We learn more, we have a lot more fun at the track, have more fun after the racing, and although we don't save any money, we get a lot more enjoyment from it.
