I'm looking for a quick-remove fuel tank for our AR-28 chassis (should make parc ferme at the Rotax Nationals a mite easier!) I've seen one on a competitor's kart, but can't seem to find a source for one. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Since the AR 28 has the tank through the steering post upright it is not easy to make a quick removal. I'll try to source what I think might work and provide what we can discover. Good luck at the grands. Last year's kart, which was the exact same kart driven by Beason two years ago lead every lap but the last lap and the driver settled for 2nd. Beason won it the previous year on the AR 28 at Vegas. So I know there is a solution, we'll just have to go back into the memory bank to figure out how it was accomplished.

One such solution is to drill a hole under the steering shaft nut by the floor pan. Remove the bottom nut, raise the steering shaft up and out of the uprights leaving your front end geometry intact, and then pull the tank straight up. That is how I've seen the Europeans accomplish this feat with the exisitng gas tank. Garry

Joe,
It was my son David that came so close last year on the AR-28. We will be in Vegas as well to compete. Scott did not require us to pull the tank, but we did have to drain all the fuel out of it in Parc Ferme. I used Garry's hand pump idea to speed it up and it worked great.

We tested back in March at the Team cup event and the AR28 is a great choice!
