Hi guys, newbie here so take it easy. I was directed here through 4cycle forums in search of an gx390 engine mount for my chassis I recently purchased (pic of chassis attached below), I’ve been told that various karts on your track run a mount adapted to fit a gx390 is this right? I would really appreciate if someone can guide me as to how I can attain such a mount, the pic provided for the said mount is attached below as well.
I know I probably will have to measure my chassis in order to get better feedback, will do so right when I get home just getting anxious sitting at the office! Lol

Pic of the mount provided over at 4cycle that you guys use

Pic of my kart frame.

Thanks again guys.

I don't know about the gx 390 but I am going to assume the motor mounting points are the same. We have the right mount for duplicating the exact set up you have on the chassis pictured. Note on the right side as we face the motor the surface is wide to accempt most any frame rail tube or spacing. It should not be a problem.
One thing we can improve upon is to offer a flush mounted bottom butterfly, this will prevent the kart from dragging on low spots on the track for drivers who like to driver over bumps or occasionally off the track. Just call Steve at 269 756 9133.

for sure we use these on our new 9 hp hondas and the 7.0 Subaru motors. No problem. Now was that easy enough?

I'm sorry I dont think the 2nd picture (My kart) showed up, I will take some measurments tomorrow and report back to make sure the mount will fit, what is the engine code for the 9hp honda?

Here is my chassis.

Alright here you go measured some and this is what I got.

Tubing seems to be 30mm

Space betwen the 2 tubes where the engine goes seems to be 62 mm

However I have this peice supporting my side bumpers that faces upwards with this conflict with the engine mount? I understand this is a 2 cycle frame which also fits 4 cycle engines as the person previously was running an gx200 or 150?

Also if someone could tell me what these rubber brushing/washers are called? are they standard size or available in different sizes?
http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/...ye/DSCN2333.jpg (http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh47/Ludeboye/DSCN2333.jpg)

And lastly what kind of sprockets would fit this sprocket mount?
http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/.../DSCN2334-1.jpg (http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh47/Ludeboye/DSCN2334-1.jpg)

I appericiate all the help guys, I know I ask a lot of questions. I am trying to learn as much as I can about this sport. Thanks to everyone giving me feedback.

Just call the office 269 756 9133 the mount pictured on the kart is the same mount that is in stock. It will fit 30 mm or 32 and the spacing between tubes is not an issue.

I have one question left, is this an angle mount or flat?

Is the one on the kart now an angle or flat? Garry already said it is the same one you already have on the kart.

Hi Harry-

Given your chassis pictured isn't a Birel - we can only guess as to some of your questions.

First - If they were running a 4-stroke on the kart then you shouldn't have clearance issues. Most 4-stroke engines are very similar in side and clearance issues in regards to OHV engines like Honda, Subaru, etc. Briggs engines are slightly different, at least the 5hp models.

Second - the bushings above and below the spindles shouldn't be rubber. They are likely aluminum and could be caster/camber pills. I don't visually see a way to adjust them, and since they are inside like that - look to be a pain in the ass to adjust, but that is what they look like. We won't carry pills for that brand and since the chassis isn't identified, we can't tell you what the stock caster setting is. Sorry.

Sprockets. That mount will fit a variety of sprockets. The inside diameter is the same for the 35 pitch chain and the 219 pitch chains. Essentially, you can fit any gear on there you want. We suggest Freeline gears of course.

Best of luck.

The original photo you gave of the red chassis looked to have an angled mount. The mounts we carry are Freeline cast aluminum and are undrilled so you can drill them to fit nearly any motor package. We use the same angled Freeline mount for KT-100, Briggs, Hondas or subarus.

of course.... sorry for the confusion. I will be "the guy" that corrects every person now that asks what gear i was running with "you mean what SPROCKET am I running?". :P
