I have an older Birel that I purchased from you about 15 years ago. I dusted off the cobwebs and had a Rotax put on it for use on my local track which is Autobahn Country Club in Joliet,IL. My mechanic rebuilt the brake caliper last season and after sitting for the winter season, it is now leaking again. Do you have any suggestions?, I could also use help in basic set up for the kart. Kart is currently at the track so I don't know model number. Once I get some seat time in the kart is it possible to get 1 or 2 days private instruction at my track in my kart. Thanks, Jeff Garibotti

Hi Jeff-

I'm friends with a few ABCC members and am out there quite a bit throughout the year. Any time you let things sit, the seals dry up and begin to go back, especially sitting in a locale that has temp changes or humidity changes (or both).

Myself or one of our engineers could schedule time out there to assist you. Feel free to contact me at news@mrpmotorsport.com for details.

Jeff, it is an M32 my favorite chassis. It had the very aggressive braking system.

I would suggest taking the brake system off the kart, master, brake lines and caliper and send it in for inspection. After this long I am afraid the inner housing has become pitted. From a safety standpoint it could be a new master and caliper would be better than the fear of having an on track issue.

Good to hear from you. We have a number of Chicagoland customers in search of assistance with their karts at the track and we do have tuners for hire for mid week travel and service in set up and driver coaching. It is important to have all repairs made in advance.

Come see us some time as well. It is only 90 minutes from downtown and we have a very good group of sr. drivers.
