just bought a c28 cadet chassis and set it up for micromax class. went to track one time for testing. set it up per the baseline setup on this site and my son was fast right out of the box. we didn't have time to do anything but play with air pressures. race day came, wet conditions, 2nd in qualifying, then won the heat race. there was a scoring mistake and i tried protesting, but long story short, i gave in and so my son started second on the grid. his frustration for not starting on the pole caused him to be impatient, and went off. Angus loves his new Birel! Thanks, and he'll win very soon.

Other than the DNF - sounds like a great report! Happy we could be of help and I'm sure you will like the chassis even more after the first win!

Congrats to Angus and to you.

This is a very good report Angus. The C28 is the most popular selling kart of any in the country. Drivers across the nation are making podium with the chassis. We have a huge notebook full of set up information after the 2007 campaign with our national champions.

MRP will be offering a summer camp for racers. You might want to come join us for extra special training and competition. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.

i wish we could come, but can't get away right now. if there's ever one closer down south, please let us know.any special set up info you'd loke to send down our way, we'll use and be appreciative of. angus started racing motocross at age 4, was factory sponsored at 8, moved up to a 65cc and broke about everything he could. multiple concussions, emergency room visits, broken bones, but the broken femur was the last straw. while he was in a wheelchair over the winter, we decided to try karting for him. he's had 3 races and loves it. here's a link to his last video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqHe9oMaOeM&feature=user
i think we've found his new sport, and angus likes the fact that he's not sore all the time.

hahahahaha.. GREAT VIDEO! We are proud to have you Angus! You have some mad motoX skills that I am positive will serve you well in karting. Especially the "no fear" part.

Keep up the good work! and no more broken femurs!

we're heading back down for practice tomorrow at our local track. it will be the first time we really will have the chance to try different set-ups. our local track is a curvy .6 mile course. mostly flat, but everyone says it's very technical. left hand turns mostly with an S section and a monza. the straight isn't very long. we are set at you base-line set up with 2mm toe out, removed torsion bar. i don't know much, so can you tell me some different things to try? angus runs fastest at 15 outside and 14 inside pressures. also, there is a tab on the non-engine side of the seat. can i remove that so i can put the battery there? what is that tab for? the battery there, beside the driver would help balance, as now it's behind the seat, and i can't get the rear end balanced. also, i heard that about 48% front is better in these cadet karts. is that right? also, we have seat struts on our other kart, should i try and put them on this one? i f so, i couldn't see how to route the engine side one as the pipe is in the way. thanks again for any info. the birel got lots of looks at the track, and all the dad's wanted a close look, and until angus' frustration got the best of him, he was making that kart look good. heck, it still looked good, just dirty.
