MICHIANA RACING BULLETIN – April 29, 2008
The opening round of the MRP Championship Series at Michiana Raceway Park is now in the books! We started the 2008 season using the “TRACK B” configuration which provided a challenge for many drivers. Practice time on the track and new tires paid off for many drivers as several customers took advantage of the MRP Speed School instructors to hone their skills. Brandon Adkins and Mike Giessen are proving two very good reasons why MRP members are receiving value added services at the track.
MRP wants to urge all customers to take advantage of their race instruction services as well as clutch and carb tuning abilities. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for many local and regional racers to have such talented and knowledgeable racers and mechanics at their home track.
MYLAPS:
The new Orbitz3 software worked like a charm thanks to Kelly Brubaker and the scoring staff. All of the opening event results can be found HERE: http://www.mylaps.com/results/showevent.jsp?id=297882
NEXT EVENT: May 4
The next event for both the MRP Championship Series & MRP Rotax Challenge is this coming Sunday, May 4. We will be utilizing track configuration “C”, so there is another opportunity for new track records to be set! View the track layouts here: http://www.mrpmotorsport.com/images/MichianaRacewayPark/mrp-tracklayouts.pdf
MRP Rotax Challenge Series:
The Rotax Challenge opener went off w/o any issues and participation was great! 34 Rotax participants showed for the opening race! Rotax racers, remember your next event is also on MAY 4.

*************** TECHNICAL BULLETINS ***************
Rotax MiniMax Rear Bumper Ruling:
Rear bumpers on Mini Max need to meet the minimum requirements of the R-max challenge rules and cover at least half of the rear wheels. Some of the plastic rear bumpers do not meet this requirement. Wide rear bumpers covering both rear wheels are mandatory. Bumpers must cover at minimum the inboard half of each tire, but may not protrude outboard of the edge of either tire except in wet conditions.
2008 Qualifying Procedure:
Lining up for qualifying will be based on times in the last practice. All competitors will be required to have transponders mounted in practice and will be lined up according to fastest to slowest. This should solve any issues with faster karts catching slower traffic in a 3-lap session. Please be advised of this ruling to insure you have transponders mounted for practice.
See you at the track!
