HELP AM29 setup

Hi My son Marc is very light 80lb and we have moved into junior class (HPV2) We race Tri-C
We are having problems getting our setup even close. We went from a B to an F axle.
I'm now using an F axle, 53" to 53.5" rear and mid length and medium height rear with(95mm) hubs. No front bar, 2.5 wheel spacers, Med height front. Weight distribution is about 57 rear 43 front. We seem to be having corner entry oversteer. I dropped the front pressure and went to 2 front spacers. Not sure if it help as the kart got pretty badly hit in the heat. We managed to get it running for the main but suffered from other problems. And could not determine if the changes helped.

Tire preasures were 13.5 and 14
2 rear struts each side.
Center bearing loose.
Track temp was about 90 degrees

A couple of other fundemental questions (I have read different opions)
If the kart is oversteering do I narrow or widen the rear

If the rear starts to overstears then hops... any ideas

Thanks James and Marc Jordan

I have asked the So Cal dealers to get involved in this discussion. I'll nudge them again.

James let me see if I can help...

First off the AM29 was a good kart in its day but has been left a little behind based on new technoligy. You wont see Penske sow up at Indy wity a 4 year old car.

Our New R30 50mm axle kart is working great in high and low grip situations.

The newer chassis have an advantage regardless of brand. .

What can we do with your AM29.

Overstear or 2 much frt grip.

Try to get frt % to 41

Lower frt of chassis

Run a softer wheel in the frt.

Run rear axle in lowest middle position. Chassis up.

I offer 1 0n 1 chassis set up at the track on a test day for 250.00 plus expenses and parts.

Might be cheap in the long run to get a base set up.

Alot depends on driver feedback also.

Good luck and see you at the Track
