I'm running an r31 chassis in Rotax. Currently have the battery mounted behind seat and want to move it the left side of the seat. I am having some mounting problems because of the chassis configuration. The seat is an ML and moved left to help with balance. Any suggestions?

Hello Tom,
I have mounted every Rotax battery to the left of the seat on at least 15 R31s this year.
I grind the metal bottom clamps a bit so they do not rub on the inner rail. Just put a little radius on them.
You may need to rock the battery box over slightly to clear the seat as well. On bigger seats, I drill a 1/4 inch hole in the lip of the seat so I can get a T-handle to the bolt on the battery cover.
That is what works for me.

Hi Andy,
Thanks for the response. You use the blue clamps beteween the bracket and the chassis, right? I'm on the right track, just needed some additional direction.

Yes.
The very bottom clamps are the metal ones. The ones on top of the frame are the blue plastic ones.

We too run the R31 in Rotax Senior. We placed the battery at the front. It's a great spot for an added couple of pounds, although we have to remove it when checking alignment.
